I have gone to the Royal Fork in Winnipeg a handful of times. The price does seem to get more and more expensive every time, and was up near 15 per person last time I was there in 2008. The food has never made me ill personally, and I've tried most things except the soup, and veal. It is COMPLETELY possible to eat your money's worth during one sitting, however if you bring some friends and have some coffee, you can usually get another plate in before you leave.
Their cheese cake is made the RIGHT way, and they include freshly made fruit syrups to drizzle over them. The chicken is home style, so it's not usually crispy, but it's juicy! They also have pretty good roast pork, never made me sick the four times I've eaten it.
